ZimTek was created to ease the burden for customers by providing accelerated solutions to meet their needs in an ever changing, fast paced environment. We maintain a network of qualified sales representatives to meet the needs of our customers.

ZimTek currently serves customers in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, and Wisconsin.

Bill Powers

Bill started in the Machine Tool industry in 1976.
Prior to ZimTek, Bill worked in the Machine Tool industry in the engineering, sales, project management and production areas. During his successful machine tool career, his focus was to devise solutions for his company and customers.

Customers, both domestic and international, included Ford, Daimler Chrysler, John Deere, Harley Davidson, Caterpillar, International, Borg Warner, Briggs & Stratton, Bombardier, Renault, Mack Trucks (Volvo), Rolls Royce.

James W. Zimmer

James has an engineering and management background. He has 25 years of experience in the machine tool, converting, assembly and automation industries.

James is a pioneer of innovative concepts and designs. His operations management skills are inducive to providing successful business practices and excellent customer relations.

James also has extensive knowledge and experience in the building and construction industries as well as real estate and finance.

Jeff has been involved with the machine tool industry for 25 years. He has experience in CNC controls and Electrical Engineering.

Mark is a professional with extensive operations experience working with all levels within the manufacturing and custom machine industries. He has a diverse background starting with the program inception and the proposal process through acceptance in the customer’s plant.

Program costs have ranged from several thousand to in excess of forty million dollars, encompassing a broad range of technical and commercial commitments. Mark has lead the effort involving all aspects of sales, engineering, vendor selection, schedules, budgets and costs. Meeting the customer’s needs is his priority one.

Jim McKnight
Project Manager

Jim started at Ingersoll Milling Machine Co. in 1973. At Ingersoll he worked in engineering, machine shop, manufacturing engineering, applications engineering, domestic and foreign sales, project management, and machine shop management.

During this 30 plus years, Jim has been afforded the opportunity to work with many customers. A few of the industries he has had the opportunity to work with are heavy construction/earthmoving, locomotive, automotive, oil/gas, aerospace and heavy truck.

Jim’s customer relations, business and management skills bring valuable resources to our team.

Marcel Iancu

Born and educated in Europe and with 16 years of working and then running a firm in the States, he brings to the table the knowledge and experience of doing business on both sides of the Atlantic.
